I qualified from the Dick Vet in 2004 and have worked primarily in small animal practice since then. I have enjoyed permanent roles as an assistant and now work as a Locum in central Scotland. In recent years I have become more interested in the challenges faced by our profession and felt a strong desire to become more involved in voluntary roles where I might make a difference. I have been fortunate to become involved with The Vet Trust
charity and I have recently been elected as BVA Scottish regional representative.
In my time off I love nothing more than walking my beloved whippet Farah and I spend time making quilts for friends’ babies. I started this hobby just a few years ago having taken some
evening classes in Edinburgh. I am still learning all the time and constantly see new designs I’d like to try. I hope it will be a hobby for life and that I will continue to improve. I have only ever made quilts for friends so this is my first charity effort though I hope to offer more quilts for charity in the future. I can highly recommend quilting and crafting hobbies as a great way to unwind and tap into the creative part of the mind.
