A senior manager in global animal health at Brooke with experience working with livestock in low and middle income countries. I am a veterinary surgeon with a strong interest in animal health systems in low resource settings. This passion was started following a student externship at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Kenya in 2006. After gaining clinical experience with large animals in Canada and Somerset I completed the MSC in International Animal Health at Edinburgh conducting research in Nigeria on trypanosomiasis. This led to a job at Brooke which has taken me from animal fairs in India to working with paravets in rural Kenya. Expertise such as veterinary education qualifications, strategic planning and team management have been stamped into my veterinary passport in addition to the international travel! I also support a fantastic organisation; Kentish Town City Farm, as a veterinary consultant on a voluntary basis to develop health plans and build best practice in animal welfare.
I’m looking forward to sharing my story and hearing yours at the very exciting Vets: Stay, Go, Diversify live event; see you all there!
