Sean spent six years after graduating from Dublin in clinical practice treating domestic and exotic pets as well as zoo species. During his studies, Sean founded and managed his own successful garden design and landscaping business which paid for student living costs, providing valuable client care and business management experience. With a strong interest in marketing and social media, he built an online profile and reputation to increase the exotics client base and revenue at two London vet practices. In 2016 at a crossroads in his veterinary career, he needed to decide whether to specialise in exotics medicine or leave clinical practice to pursue an industry role that would harness his marketing and business management passion and experience. An opportunity to join an exciting new startup bringing pioneering food technology and personalisation to the pet nutrition industry presented itself. Sean joined tails.com where he is now Head Vet and Manager, Veterinary Affairs. He enjoys the creativity the role allows, steering marketing and brand communications with dog health and welfare in mind, bringing an understanding of pet owner concerns to the business and working closely with teams across the business. Exposure to highly talented business entrepreneurs, tech and operations managers, marketing geniuses, graphic designers and an award winning customer experience team, who are all dog lovers, has made it a very rewarding experience and learning curve. Part of his role now involves increasing brand awareness and advocacy of tails.com in the veterinary industry, being the in-house vet for office dogs and externally he still lectures to vets and nurses on exotics topics on various webinars and CPD events.
