What is Secret Support?

VSGD is building a supportive community that facilitates all kinds of constructive discussions around issues in the veterinary professions.

Secret Support is an opportunity for you to ask personal or sensitive questions and get great advice from your peers in an anonymous way.

Why is it anonymous?

The large and diverse membership of the group means that posts may be viewed by past, current or future colleagues, employees, bosses and others. With that in mind, we understand that sometimes you might need a safe space to express genuine concerns, or worries without the fear of repercussions or judgement from people you know in real life.

Want to submit a question?

Email vets.stay.go.diversify@gmail.com with either of the following subject lines:

  1. Secret Support (if you would like to use this service)

  2. Secret Helper (to privately help the post)

Posting rules and guidelines

We welcome your participation but please adhere to the following rules:

  • Be kind and courteous. We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

  • Keep it constructive. Posts must not contain insult or threats and any criticism should be kept as constructive/evidence based as possible. Show sensitivity and respect for those who may hold alternative views.

  • No hate speech or bullying. Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

  • Respect everyone's privacy. Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private.

  • Follow your professional codes of conduct. Please remember that you may have an obligations to follow professional codes of conduct and the social media policy of your employer(s).

  • Comments made on the Facebook group may be included (without any names or attribution) in blog posts on the vsgd.co website. In some cases these may be lightly edited for clarity.
