Silvia
Silvia, the founder of Flexee, is a veterinarian passionate about helping to modernise the veterinary profession for a sustainable future. Silvia’s combination of expertise in scientific methodology from 10 years practicing veterinary medicine, various business development roles and as SPVS president in 2024 brings a depth of excitement and skills to Flexee.
Jo
Jo is the General Manager at Flexee, working in a personalised and flexible pattern that reflects the company’s values. After graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2019, she gained hands-on experience in equine practice, including hospital-based and out-of-hours roles. Jo is passionate about improving staff retention and recruitment by championing practical, flexible working solutions.
The global veterinary profession has a recruitment and retention crisis. Our research has shown that there is a strong need for flexible working amongst veterinary professionals therefore our mission is to; significantly increase veterinary practice staffing efficiency while radically improving the work-life balance and morale of veterinary professionals.

Our accreditation incorporates flexible working education (CPD), case studies and more.
We also offer a free flexible assessment tool as well as formal HR consultancy and advice.
Veterinary businesses need to be sustainable and profitable. Recruiting a new vet costs £20-40,000 , therefore retention is key. We want to enable practices to recruit faster, retain better.
In April 2023 the right to request flexible working was introduced by the UK Government. Under this legislation employers have a responsibility to reasonably consider a flexible working request. At Flexee, we offer resources and HR expertise to support established and new policies.

Our Flexee Accreditation is for the practice, not for individuals; and our CPD is the same for both the employers and employees, which ensures the whole team is on the same page.

3. Seek to understand
We’re veterinary people solving veterinary problems. This gives us an advantage in understanding the true need. However, we never stop being curious.
This means we work ‘bottom up’ by closely collaborating with veterinary practices and professionals to build solutions, rather than build solutions first and then try to sell it into the market.
We’re constantly talking to clinics and locums to uncover pain points worth solving.
