Meet the team
Sophie Eaden
Sophie graduated from Bristol University in 2013 and has spent most of her career in equine ambulatory practice.
A passion for making the veterinary profession more sustainable and enjoyable for those working in it led her to diversify into coaching and education. She now runs her own coaching business supporting individuals within and outside of the veterinary profession.
As well as her coaching diploma Sophie also has further training in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace, Trauma Informed Coaching, team coaching and Non-Violent Communication.
Alongside her business Sophie is also a member of BEVA council where she supported the development and delivery of their successful group coaching programme as well as establishing and contributing to their EDI, wellbeing and leadership projects.
She does some work for the charity Breast Cancer Now, facilitating Moving Forward courses for people after primary breast cancer treatment.
Recently Sophie has become an associate coach at Grit Ltd, providing executive and leadership coaching to individuals and teams.
Trauma-informed, neuroscience-led coaching.
Supporting people who are feeling lost or stuck to get clear on where they want to go, rebuild belief that they can get there and start taking those next steps forward.
Curiosity - a crucial component of coaching but also a reminder that you don't know everything about anyone and a nudge to lean away from judgement. Free discovery calls help me learn more about potential clients, while my mind stays open to learning different ways I can support them.
Courage - recognising that vulnerability and change both require bravery. This is at both an individual level and wider. This comes with asking uncomfortable questions of myself and the spaces I'm in to pursue what I believe to be important.
Integrity - acting with grace and understanding of the complexity and nuance of life, in a way that feels good for me. Being clear about who I can't help is as important as who I can, not preying on those in vulnerable positions. Being discerning about who I work with, who I collaborate with and how I walk the talk.
Kindness - supporting others and myself in a way that feels inclusive and fair. Clear communication with empathy and boundaries.
Joy - ensuring it's not all work, that there is some fun; a reminder of why we're here. Finding things to laugh at amongst the heaviness and seeking magic even when it feels like there isn't any.

Work on discovering your own path rather than trying to conform to someone else's. We get so much more out of life and can give so much more when we focus on being who we are instead of something we're not.
