Leahurst Farm Animal Practice is a teaching practice for veterinary undergraduates at the University of Liverpool. It is a fully functioning veterinary practice, situated on the University of Liverpool’s Leahurst Campus on the Wirral Peninsula. The majority of work is ambulatory, serving farmers on the Wirral, Cheshire and North Wales. We also have in-patient facilities for adults and youngstock of all the main farm species, strong-links with the equine or small animal departments allow specialist diagnostics and surgery. The practice is in the Department of Livestock and One Health which is responsible for Livestock, Epidemiology and Veterinary Public Health teaching. The department has several research programmes including Animals in Society, Climate & Health, Disease control, Disease surveillance, Epidemiology, Vector-borne diseases, Zoonoses epidemiology and the Global Burden of Animal Disease and One Health.
